Work Experience
Work Experience
You must have at least two years of full-time work experience (or an equivalent amount in part-time) in a skilled trade within the five years prior to your application.
The work experience must be in skilled trades
- Major Group 72, technical trades and transportation officers and controllers (excluding Major Sub-group 726, transportation officers and controllers)
- Major Group 73, general trades.
- Major Group 82, supervisors in natural resources, agriculture, and related production.
- Major Group 83, occupations in natural resources and related production.
- Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors, and utilities operators and controllers.
- Major Group 93, central control and process operators, and aircraft assembly assemblers and inspectors (excluding Major Sub-group 932, aircraft assemblers and inspectors).
- Minor Group 6320, cooks, butchers, and bakers.
- Unit Group 62200, chefs.

Language Skills
Language Skills
You must demonstrate proficiency in English or French through recognized language tests such as IELTS or TEF. A minimum level in language skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) is required.

You must meet the job requirements for the specific trade in Canada, as defined in the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

The first step is to create an online profile where you will provide details about your education, work experience, language skills, and other factors considered in the CRS.
CRS Score

If you are selected, you will receive an ITA and will have a limited time (60 days) to submit your complete permanent residency application along with all necessary supporting documents.

Once the complete application is submitted, the average processing time is approximately six months, making Express Entry one of the fastest ways to obtain permanent residency in Canada.
