Express Entry & PNP Draws – July Highlights
July was an active month for immigration draws! Here’s a quick recap:
- July 22 – Healthcare & Social Services (v2)
- 4,000 invitations | CRS cut-off: 475
- July 21 – Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- 202 invitations | CRS cut-off: 788
- July 8 – Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- 3,000 invitations | CRS cut-off: 518
- July 7 – Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- 356 invitations | CRS cut-off: 750

IRCC Adds More Transparency to Application Refusals
If you’ve ever wondered why an application was refused, there’s good news. As of July 29, 2025, some applicants will now receive officer decision notes with their refusal letters for:
- Visitor visas (TRVs)
- Visitor records
- Study permits
- Work permits
The best part? You don’t need to request them—they’ll come automatically.
Note: eTAs, TRPs, and applications submitted through the new portal do not receive notes yet.
Nova Scotia PNP: Focus on Local and Priority Workers
The Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NS PNP) has reached its 2025 cap, so the province is prioritizing:
- Workers already living and working in Nova Scotia with permits expiring in 2025
- Healthcare and Construction workers for top priority
- Most international applications from non-priority sectors will not be processed this year

Super Visa: Updated Income Requirements
Thinking of bringing your parents or grandparents to Canada? As of July 29, here are the new Super Visa income requirements:

(Add $8,224 for each additional person)
Tip: Your spouse or common-law partner can co-sign to meet the requirement.
The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents to:
- Stay in Canada for up to 5 years per visit
- Maintain visitor status for up to 10 years
Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) 2025
- Invitations to Apply (ITAs) start July 28, 2025
- Selection is by lottery, sent to the email used in your 2020 interest-to-sponsor form
- Quebec residents: The cap for parents and grandparents is full until June 25, 2026
