You must have at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience (or the equivalent in part-time). Skilled work experience means you have worked in one of these categories of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER.

Language Skills

Language Skills

You need to demonstrate proficiency in English or French through recognized language tests such as IELTS or TEF. You must achieve a minimum level in all language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).

You must have a degree, diploma, or certificate equivalent to the Canadian educational level. Foreign credentials must be assessed through an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to verify their equivalence in Canada.

CRS Score

Your profile will receive a CRS score based on various criteria. Candidates with the highest scores in the Express Entry pool are the ones who will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

Invitation

If you are selected, you will receive an ITA and will have a limited time (60 days) to submit your complete application for permanent residence along with all the necessary supporting documents.

Processing

Once the complete application is submitted, the average processing time is approximately six months, making Express Entry one of the fastest ways to obtain permanent residence in Canada.
